Iyo-Hitoye-Kusari-Haidate

The haidate is a part of the samurai armor, tied around the waist with protection designed for the thigh area of the upper leg. This particular construction style of haidate is named after the province of Iyo. The construction of iron or leather plates joined by mail or hinges is referred to as hitoye-gusari chainmail method. The binding of the piece is still in great condition with a soft leather and beautiful blue silk with yellow patterned design. The top supportive waistband is made of asa (hemp).
